1894 EAR memory jacket - M/L
1894 hand embroidered and stitched lightweight cotton memory quilt. This is a blanket initialed “E.A.R.” by the maker. This style of quilt was popular in the mid to late 1800s and was originally stitched using red thread. In each square is an embroidered picture of people, items, and symbols that tell a story pertaining to the maker and the maker’s family. I am not sure that I’ll ever find one of these or purchase another again, so this piece is quite special to me.
(ok so I have too many words for this-too many that I’m at a loss of words for this.)
Please note that all textiles used are 50 to 125+ years old and may contain irregularities and/or areas of irregular color. All stains and fabric imperfections have been treated by us to the best of our ability.
Model pictured is 6’2” and typically wears a size medium.
