1960s Japanese shibori 100% silk.

Yellow, white and orange shibori dance across a textured sienna background. The panels are from an estate collection of deconstructed vintage and antique kimono and fabrics. It's soft tailored. No interfacing or fusible. Thus, it's very naturally wavy and has a naivete feel to it. Which I love.

Coconut buttons. Silk thread.

I'm not sure if anyone here has ever sewn silk before? This jersey took twice the time it usually takes. The softest drape. Not something usually used to describe baseball jerseys.

Oh. And I was FI NA LLY able to do French seams because a. Silk and b. Enough textile to allow for it.
