lawn sampler shirt.
This is a 1960s cotton lawn sampler/cutter textile. It was originally meant to be embroidered on top of a template which was printed on this tablecloth. Instead, someone painted. Quicker, I assume. They did a fine job. Like, really beautiful.
So this silhouette is something I'm really into right now. I'm not saying the camp collar is dying. But, I am saying that this "italian collar" with no lapel - essentially a single piece with the facing- is coming up. Is it a risky piece to wear? No, of course not. It lays beautifully on the chest just like a convertible collar. Is it a unique piece? Sure, of course. It has an air of sophistication to me. I don't expect that many have worn this style, let alone seen many around. So let's pivot a little bit and explore.
Italian collar
Relaxed fit
5 natural agoya shell buttons at center front

Please note that all textiles used are 50 to 125+ years old and may contain irregularities and/or areas of irregular color. All stains and fabric imperfections have been treated by us to the best of our ability and are common with vintage and antique textiles.
