vermilion shirt
This shirt was made using an ivory and red cotton coverlet. Red cotton leaves are hand appliqued atop ecru cotton sack textile cc 1955. (assuming that's the year, considering the '55' drawn in a heart on the back; see the last photo).
the shirt was cut on the straight grain including the sleeves. but, since the sleeves were cut on the straight grain there was no red binding at the hem. So, we had to take it off from another part of the textile and add it to the sleeve hem. This is not a quilt topper, not a quilt.

5 natural agoya shell buttons at center front
Split side seams

Please note that all textiles used are 50 to 125+ years old and may contain irregularities and/or areas of irregular color. All stains and fabric imperfections have been treated by us to the best of our ability and are common with vintage and antique textiles.
