featherweight shirt.

I wish that I had a scratch-n-sniff type situation on this page. A touch-and-feel, if you will.

This shirt is made from dead stock printed cotton from the 1950’s. The print is repeated in strangely oblong, short screens. The seller told me that it may have been printed to be cut into ascots or neck ties. I’m not sure he’s entirely wrong because this cotton feels almost like silk. After pulling the threads out of the weave, we found that the yarns used are 1 ply; this gives the textile a slight sheen and a quite literally featherweight identity.

Its stunning. Dark brown ground with white stripes bleed into thoughtful placement of vibrant contrasting lilies. The soft beach really gets me.

  • Convertible collar

  • Split side seams at hem

  • Mother of pearl buttons

  • Boxy, camp shirt silhouette

Please note that all textiles used are 50 to 125+ years old and may contain irregularities and/or areas of irregular color. All stains and fabric imperfections have been treated by us to the best of our ability and are common with vintage and antique textiles.
